Vladimir Putin sent his greetings to the 18th World Congress of Russian Press in Paris, which began work at the Russian Spiritual and Cultural Centre that opened today in the French capital.
The message reads, in part:
“For many years now, your congress has been bringing together mass media heads from many different countries. This communication event plays a very important part in consolidating the Russian media space and offering a platform for exchanging professional experience and developing new projects and ideas.
We are sincerely grateful to you for your genuine interest in events in Russia and in our country’s views and responses to the issues facing the world today. In the current complicated international situation your work to spread comprehensive and truthful information takes on particular importance.
We hope that the print and electronic media you represent will continue to make a major contribution to forming an objective picture of Russia in the eyes of people abroad. For our part, we will further develop cooperation with your media outlets, radio stations and television channels”.
Mr Putin also expressed his confidence that the congress would contribute to uniting compatriots abroad, bolstering the position of the Russian language and culture in the world, and to developing international humanitarian cooperation.
