Condolences on Kirill Vyshinsky’s death

August 28, 2025

Vladimir Putin sent his condolences to the staff of International Media Group Rossiya Segodnya on the passing of its Executive Director Kirill Vyshinsky.

The President’s message reads, in part:

“Please accept my deep condolences and words of support on Kirill Vyshinsky’s passing.

Kirill Vyshinsky was a person of courage and strong spirit. A brilliant journalist, he headed Rossiya Segodnya International Information Agency’s representative office in Ukraine and performed his professional duty with great integrity by championing and asserting the truth. The neo-Nazi regime targeted him with its brutal repression, but Kirill stood firm and did not betray his beliefs or principles.

A true patriot of both Russia and Ukraine, Kirill Vyshinsky had faith in our ability to overcome all challenges, to turn this tragic page in history and to revive the good traditions of friendship and brotherhood, which had brought our people together for centuries.

The memory of Kirill Vyshinsky will live on forever in the hearts of all those who knew this remarkable man.”

Kirill Vyshinsky, 58, succumbed to a severe protracted illness on August 23 in Moscow.
