Vladimir Putin signed Executive Order On Amendments to the State Programme to Assist Voluntary Resettlement of Compatriots Living Abroad to the Russian Federation, Approved by Executive Order No. 637 of the President of the Russian Federation of June 22, 2006.
The amendments mainly deal with clarifying certain clauses of the law. The Government received instructions to bring its legal acts in compliance with the Presidential Executive Order within six months.
The state programme is being implemented in line with the action plan to assist in the voluntary relocation to the Russian Federation of compatriots residing abroad, approved by the Government of the Russian Federation for a period of three years. In particular, the action plan envisages legal support for the state programme, organisational and management efforts directed at its implementation, analytical, methodological and information support for the programme and the necessary budget allocations.
