Dmitry Medvedev sent his greetings to the participants and guests of the World Conference of Compatriots entitled The Contribution by Compatriots to Russia's Modernisation. Opportunities for Developing Partnerships.
The message reads, in part:
“Your forum has an important theme: Russia’s modernisation and technological development. To address these major challenges we will require the effort and energy of our compatriots, their creative, intellectual and professional potential.
Contemporary Russia is open to all who identify with its fate, are interested in its prosperity and are prepared to contribute to its progressive development. Today there is a great need for your ideas and proposals related to the growth of innovation, the rise of the social sphere and the improvement in the quality of life.
I am confident that the recommendations presented during the conference will serve to unite our efforts in these areas.”
