Meeting with President of the Supreme Court Igor Krasnov

November 5, 2025

The President held a working meeting with President of the Supreme Court Igor Krasnov.

President of Russia Vladimir Putin: Mr Krasnov, today marks Court Worker’s Day for the first time. I would like to congratulate you and your colleagues from the judicial system on your professional holiday, wish you all the best, and thank everyone who works and performs the crucial function of protecting our citizens’ rights and interests in courts. I thank you for this critically important, and without exaggeration, noble mission.

How is onboarding going?

President of the Supreme Court Igor Krasnov: Thank you, Mr President, for the congratulations.

First of all, on behalf of the judicial community, court staff, court staff, and former court employees, I would like to thank you for supporting the initiative to establish a professional holiday, Court Worker’s Day. This decision, first and foremost, shows that you pay constant attention to and look after the judicial system. This step will enhance the prestige of justice and the judicial profession.

I recall that at the 10th All-Russian Congress of Judges in 2022 you stated that courts stand at the pinnacle of the legal system.

Undoubtedly, these important words inspire us to further develop the judicial system and to create new and effective judicial mechanisms.

Judges, judicial assistants, court secretaries, and administrators – all of them contribute greatly to advancing the judicial system. The vitality and humaneness of the Russian justice system undoubtedly depends on each of us.

As the top judicial authority in relation to other Russian courts, the Supreme Court of Russia will work to revive domestic judicial traditions.

We are striving to create a single legal framework and uniform judicial practice for all constituent entities of the Russian Federation, so that all our people, our citizens can be clear about judicial practice.

At my direction, a working group has been established to draft proposals aiming to bring Russian justice and legal proceedings up to date.

Courts are using available information resources and explaining to people why courts make particular decisions, how they do so, and what they base their decisions on. In a word, they make the rationale behind their positions known to the public.

We continue to expand the e-justice system for the future potential implementation of generative AI, which will help eliminate inconsistencies in judicial practice and eliminate errors.

As President of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation, I will make every effort to strengthen public trust in courts.

Of course, the primary goal of the judiciary is to serve society. Every citizen who comes to court must, of course, find justice.

Mr President, I would like to thank you for supporting the initiatives to further improve the judicial system in Russia.

Vladimir Putin: People’s trust in courts largely underlies their trust in the state as a whole. So, I wish you success.

Igor Krasnov: Thank you.
