Vladimir Putin signed a list of instructions following a meeting on disaster relief work following floods in various regions of the Russian Federation, held on September 4, 2014 in Gorno-Altaisk.
In particular, instructions to the Government of the Russian Federation concern allocating funds from the federal budget in 2014–2015 to affected regions, developing methods for assessing and compensating losses from emergency situations and natural disasters, and developing standard patterns (regulations) for actions by government agencies to handle the aftermath of emergency situations and natural disasters.
The Government has been instructed jointly with executive agencies in Russia’s federal constituent entities to organise work aimed at developing a system of insuring citizens and legal entities against the risks of emergency situations and natural disasters, as well as agricultural insurance.
Multiple instructions and recommendations were given to executive agencies in the Republic of Altai, the Republic of Tuva, the Republic of Khakassia and Altai Territory.
