Dmitry Medvedev signed Executive Order On the Federal Service for Intellectual Property.
The executive order is aimed at creating a coherent and effective mechanism for the disposal of the rights of the Russian Federation to the results of intellectual activity and for their protection through a clear division of functions of federal executive bodies.
To this end, the Federal Service for Intellectual Property, Patents and Trademarks has been renamed the Federal Service for Intellectual Property. Its responsibilities will include monitoring and supervision in the sphere of legal protection and use of intellectual property of civil, military, special and dual purpose.
The Federal Service for Intellectual Property will be managed by the Government of the Russian Federation.
