Vladimir Putin met with President of the Russian Academy of Sciences Yury Osipov.
Issues discussed included the upcoming elections of the leadership and the president of the Russian Academy of Sciences at the general meeting of the RAS, to be held in late May.
Yury Osipov briefed the President on the preparations for this meeting.
Vladimir Putin stressed that the Russian Academy of Sciences plays an enormous role in the development of economy and science and in addressing national defence issues. The President also noted the need to create conditions for the further development of this very important organisation.
