Vladimir Putin signed Federal Law On Amendments to the Federal Law On the ERA-GLONASS State Automated Information System.
The federal law aims to create the possibility for additional commercial use of the ERA-GLONASS State Automated Information System. Thus, it envisages the use of the ERA-GLONASS system to perform a set of federal and municipal functions and to provide services to legal entities and individuals.
The document contemplates that the ERA-GLONASS data resource and/or its software and hardware should be used when developing state information systems as well as information systems that are part of the concession agreement facilities the functioning of which requires the use of navigation information.
The ERA-GLONASS systems will be operated by GLONASS, a joint-stock company with 100 percent state participation.
