Presidential Aide Igor Levitin chaired a meeting of the Commission for the Development of General Aviation and GLONASS-Based Navigation Information Technology.
The meeting was attended by heads of federal and regional executive bodies of power, Rostec State Corporation General Director Sergei Chemezov, Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Abyzov, Minister of Communications and Mass Media Nikolai Nikiforov, Ulyanovsk Region Governor Sergei Morozov, as well as representatives of a number of state corporations and organisations in the space and transport sectors, the navigation and information technology sphere, and civic and professional aviation organisations.
The main topic on the agenda was the use of GLONASS-based navigation information technology in the interests of the national transport sector.
The participants discussed approaches to addressing priority tasks in this sphere, including streamlining regulations, developing mechanisms and measures to incentivise the dissemination of GLONASS technology and navigation information systems, and ensuring a more effective use of navigation data.
The meeting also considered the implementation of a federal executive bodies’ of power action plan to develop general aviation, and other Commission decisions.
