On December 24, 2021, members of the State Council and the Presidential Council for Science and Education will hold a joint meeting via videoconference.
Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko, Novosibirsk Region Governor, Chair of the State Council’s Commission on Science Andrei Travnikov, Samara Region Governor Dmitry Azarov, President of the Russian Academy of Sciences Alexander Sergeyev and Lomonosov Moscow State University Rector Viktor Sadovnichy will all give reports.
The agenda includes a review of the outgoing Year of Science and proposals on a new long-term programme to elevate the management of science and the implementation of national research projects to a new level throughout the country.
On December 22, a conference with the heads of the Russian Federation’s regions and representatives of the professional community was held to prepare materials for the meeting and to discuss the regions’ proposals on developing the science and technological potential.
