Vladimir Putin sent greetings to the current and former staff of the Vitaly Khlopin Radium Institute on its 100th anniversary.
The message reads, in part:
“The founding fathers of your institute were outstanding scientists who were aware of the exceptional importance of exploring and advancing promising areas of science and the nuclear industry in our country. They determined the main vector of the institute's activities for several decades ahead, and established the tradition of selfless service to their vocation, the people, and our Motherland.
It is gratifying that the current team worthily continues the work of its predecessors. Its members are dedicated to multifaceted research work to improve and implement modern technological solutions in the production of new types of products. They are thinking and working for the future. Let me emphasise that your knowledge and experience, your remarkable discoveries and great creative potential have enormous scientific and practical importance. They enjoy demand in nuclear power engineering, nuclear physics, radioecology, medicine, and other fields.”
