Vladimir Putin congratulated the faculty, undergraduate and postgraduate students, and alumni of the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI on its 80th anniversary.
The message reads, in part:
“You can be truly proud of the history of your alma mater, its genuinely unique contribution to Russian science, strategic sectors of the economy and the defence industry and, of course, you can be proud of the brilliant constellation of Nobel Prize winners whose careers were closely linked to this university.
It is important to note that today MEPhI’s true professionals continue the traditions of selfless service of their predecessors, teaching their students to think outside the box, to work selflessly and push towards their goals with perseverance. The university’s focus on hands-on experience and innovation, the latest education technologies and a strong research base allow the university’s staff to look to the future with confidence and to train highly-qualified professionals.
I am confident that, by preserving the legacy and staying open to everything new, this university will continue to keep a high bar as one of the recognised leaders in Russian higher education.”
