Vladimir Putin signed Federal Law On Amendments to the Federal Law On Road Traffic Safety and the Administrative Offences Code of the Russian Federation.
The Federal Law aims to improve state regulation of road traffic and conditions for vehicular driving permits, as well as providing an appropriate level of training for vehicular driving.
In particular, the law is supplemented with provisions that forbid the hiring of drivers who do not have Russian national driver’s licenses; envisage the option of using technical means of monitoring the theoretical knowledge and practical skills of applicants for vehicular driver’s licenses; and stipulate details concerning the validity of foreign national and international driver’s licenses on Russia’s territory.
