Vladimir Putin signed Federal Law On Amendments to the Federal Law on Road Traffic Safety and the Russian Federation Code of Administrative Offences.
The Federal Law postpones the ban on driving vehicles using foreign national or international driver’s licenses when conducting entrepreneurial or professional activities directly related to driving or using transportation vehicles, from May 7, 2014 to June 1, 2015.
This is based on the fact that the procedures for exchanging foreign national and international driver’s licenses to a Russian national or international driver’s license has not yet been approved by the Government of the Russian Federation. Moreover, after these procedures are approved, a significant amount of time will be necessary to organise and conduct an exchange of driver’s licenses.
