Dmitry Medvedev signed Federal Law On Amendments to the Federal Law On Research and State Policy in Science and Technology and Article 251 of Part 2 of the Tax Code of the Russian Federation to Specify the Legal Status of Foundations Supporting Activities in Research, Science, Technology and Innovation.
The foundations supporting activities in research, science, technology and innovation are divided into state foundations, set as budgetary or autonomous institutions of the Russian Federation and/or federal constituent entities, and nongovernmental foundations, set as nongovernmental organisations by legal entities and/or individuals.
In particular, the law determines the organisational structure of state foundations, these funds’ competition procedures for scientific, research and technology programmes and projects, and innovative projects.
