Vladimir Putin signed Federal Law On Amendments to Parts 1 and 2 of the Russian Federation Tax Code (Concerning Taxation of Profits of Controlled Foreign Companies and Income of Foreign Organisations).
The Federal Law is aimed at creating a mechanism to prevent the use of low-tax jurisdictions to obtain unjustified preferences and tax benefits, and to improve legislation on taxes and tax collection as it pertains to taxation of foreign organisations.
The Federal Law establishes criteria for foreign organisations to be categorised as controlled foreign companies.
