The President signed Federal Law On Amendments to Articles 151 and 18 of the Federal Law On the Legal Status of Foreign Nationals in the Russian Federation.
The new legislation exempts foreign nationals working in Russia with work permits issued within the Government-established quota from the requirement to confirm their proficiency in the Russian language, knowledge of Russian history, and understanding of basic Russian legislation when applying for a work permit.
The Federal Law extends the deadline for foreign nationals entering Russia on a visa to submit proof of their proficiency in the Russian language, knowledge of Russian history, and understanding of basic Russian legislation from 30 to 90 calendar days.
