Following the State Council Presidium meeting On Measures to Accelerate Development of Livestock Farming as a Priority to Ensure Food Security in Russia, held on July 13, 2010, the Russian Government was instructed to develop a set of measures aimed at creating conditions for exporting Russian meat products to foreign markets and stimulating exports.
The Agriculture Ministry has drawn up a draft strategy for developing meat production in Russia through 2020, with its basic provisions to be included in the draft State Programme for developing agriculture and market regulation for agricultural products, raw materials and food for 2013–2020.
