Changes to Administrative Offences Code and law on advertising

The President signed the Federal Law On Amendments to the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation and the Federal Law on Advertising Following the Adoption of the Federal Law on Protecting Citizens’ Health from the Impact of Tobacco Smoke and the Consequences of Tobacco Consumption.

The Federal Law has been passed with the aim of introducing administrative liability for noncompliance with the prohibitions and restrictions established by the Federal Law On Protecting Citizens’ Health from the Impact of Tobacco Smoke and the Consequences of Tobacco Consumption.

In particular, the amendments to the Russian Federation Administrative Offences Code concern involving minors in the process of consuming tobacco, prohibiting smoking tobacco in certain areas, indoors and at facilities, observing statutory provisions on protecting citizens’ health from the impact of tobacco smoke and the consequences of tobacco consumption.

Amendments to the Federal Law On Advertising concern a list of goods that cannot be advertised. This list has been updated to include tobacco products and smoking accessories.
