Instructions following a meeting on socioeconomic development in Crimea and Sevastopol

April 8, 2015

Vladimir Putin signed a list of instructions drafted following a meeting on socioeconomic development in Crimea and Sevastopol on March 18, 2015.

The Russian Federation Government and Republic of Crimea’s executive authorities were jointly instructed to establish a republican medical centre in Simferopol and a retraining centre for Crimea’s healthcare sector workers, build the infrastructure for road crossings on the Russian Federation state border in the north of the Crimean Federal District, and organise financial support for agricultural goods producers in Crimea.

The Government, Crimea executive authorities, the Sevastopol city authorities, and the Central Bank have received joint instructions on protecting the rights of Russian citizens living in Crimea and Sevastopol and with deposits in Ukrainian financial institutions.

The Republic of Crimea’s Council of Ministers and the Russian Transport Ministry received a recommendation to ensure work on transport infrastructure, including the Kerch Strait ferry crossing, to handle passenger traffic in the 2015 summer season, taking into account the peak traffic volumes in 2014.
