Vladimir Putin sent greetings to the participants, guests and organisers of the First International Oncology and Radiology Forum in Moscow.
The message reads, in part:
“Fighting cancer is a key priority for modern healthcare around the world. During the next six years, Russia will be implementing a large-scale programme to prevent and treat cancer, which must result in a higher life expectancy.
To achieve this goal, we plan to upgrade oncology clinics, implement advanced technology and developments and build an integrated system, from early diagnosis to timely and quality treatment, as well as training and professional development for qualified oncologists.
It is good to see that this forum has brought together Russian and foreign scientists, managers of medical facilities and representatives of related professions to discuss topical issues in the industry.
I am sure the participants will share their best experience, scientific knowledge and practices and propose new approaches to improving the success rate of cancer treatments.”
