Following the June 19, 2010 meeting of the Commission for Modernisation and Technological Development of Russia's Economy, the Government of Russia was instructed to encourage foreign investments into the production of pharmaceuticals, computer hardware, medical, telecommunications, energy and energy-saving equipment, and other high-tech products in Russia.
The instructions concerned measures to stimulate foreign companies to launch production and research in Russia; setting customs tariffs rates for end-products and respective assembly parts and machinery; and simplification of customs processing procedures, currency and export control for exports of end-products and imports of assembly parts and machinery.
The measures taken by the Government to implement these instructions were reviewed and approved on January 12, 2011 at a meeting on activities of the Presidential Commission for Modernisation and Technological Development of Russia's Economy.
