Dmitry Medvedev instructed the government to develop the procedure and mechanism for compiling a list of vital and essential medicines, based on the approved standards of medical care.
The instruction also aims to improve the procedure for establishing the upper limit on ex-works prices for medication from the said list by drug manufacturers, in order to avoid unjustifiable growth in retail drug prices and a decrease in their availability in pharmacies.
The Healthcare and Social Development Ministry has been instructed to ensure drafting relevant regulations.
