Law aimed at preventing hooliganism at official sporting events

July 23, 2013

Vladimir Putin signed Federal Law On Amendments to Individual Legislative Acts of the Russian Federation to Ensure Public Order and Public Safety at Official Sporting Events.

The federal law is aimed at preventing hooliganism at official sporting events.

The federal law establishes requirements for official sporting event venues, sets out measures for ensuring public order and public safety at these venues, and defines spectators’ rights and responsibilities.

The law also stipulates creating a list of individuals who are banned from attending official sporting events. This list must be maintained by an internal affairs federal executive agency.
