Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with President of the International University Sports Federation (FISU) Claude-Louis Gallien.
The President thanked Mr Gallien for FISU’s decision to hold the 2019 29th World Winter Universiade in Krasnoyarsk, and said he hopes for good cooperation with FISU in preparing for the competition.
Mr Putin said that the Krasnoyarsk Universiade will be organised to the highest standards demonstrated by the preparation and hosting of the 2013 World Summer Universiade in Kazan.
The President said he is confident that holding the World Universiade in Krasnoyarsk will give a big boost to developing the city and the region and will help to further promote sport among young people.
