Vladimir Putin congratulated Viktor Ahn on winning the bronze medal in the 1,500-metre short track competition at the 2014 XXII Winter Olympics in Sochi.
The President said, in particular, in his message:
“You have represented Russia worthily in one of the most vivid and interesting-to-watch disciplines and in what was a tough and tense competition demonstrated the true Olympic qualities of excellent physical preparedness and skill, strength of character, determination and will. You deserved this honourable bronze medal at the XXII Winter Olympics.”
