Vladimir Putin congratulated Nikolay Olyunin on his silver medal in the snowboard cross event at the XXII Olympic Winter Games in Sochi.
The message reads, in part:
“This is the first time a Russian athlete has won an Olympic medal in the snowboard cross event. This is a well-deserved reward for your skill, strong will and character. We are especially grateful to your mentors and your family for their support during the years of hard training.”
