Dmitry Medvedev sent his greetings to participants and guests of the world championship in Greco-Roman, freestyle, and women’s wrestling held on September 5–13, 2010 in Moscow.
The message reads, in part:
“Greco-Roman, freestyle, and women’s wrestling are very popular in Russia. It is therefore symbolic that the world championship is being held here in Moscow.
Over one thousand athletes from 95 nations will be competing in these events. Thanks to modern technologies, this captivating competition will be viewed by millions of fans across the globe. For the first time in the history of wrestling championships, they will be broadcast live over the Internet.
I am confident that the championship will make wrestling even more popular and promote healthy lifestyles.”
