Dmitry Medvedev sent congratulations to Russia’s national synchronised swimming team following their victory at the World Aquatics Championships.
The telegram reads, in part:
”You have demonstrated superior skills and a desire for victory. Having won every single gold medal in the championships, you have proven your indisputable edge over powerful, eminent rivals. And today, the entire nation is rightly proud of your achievements.
I would particularly like to express gratitude to the team’s coaches, Tatyana Pokrovskaya and Tatyana Danchenko. Their persistent work over many years has been an investment into the Russian synchronised swimmers’ ability to excel over all the other competitors in performing some very difficult elements.
I am certain that you will not stop there and will continue to strive toward new athletic heights and represent Russia commendably at international competitions.“
