Greetings to participants in the presentation of the Master of Sports Administration educational programme

July 30, 2012

Vladimir Putin sent his greetings to participants in the presentation of the Russian International Olympic University’s Master of Sports Administration educational programme.

The President said, in particular, in his message:

“Gathered today at the Russian pavilion in London are representatives of international public organisations, sports federations, well-known coaches, athletes, professors, and teachers from Olympic studies centres in Russia and many other countries. I am sure you all share a common understanding of the huge social and cultural significance that the development of mass sports and the Olympic movement have in the modern world.

Russia is deservedly proud of its famous champions and record-setters, traditions and experience of hosting some of the world’s most prestigious international sports events, and its unfailing commitment to the Olympic movement’s ideals. We are doing much in Russia today to open young people up to the values of physical culture and a healthy lifestyle and are working hard on improving our sports training system and modernising sports infrastructure. The Russian International Olympic University, which will open in Sochi with the International Olympic Committee’s support, is one of the biggest steps in this direction. It will become an influential centre for training specialists in sports management and testing and spreading promising and truly innovative new educational methods and technology.

I am sure that the Olympic University in Sochi will soon open its doors wide to students from around the world seeking to acquire the wonderful and much-needed qualification of Master of Sports Administration.”
