Vladimir Putin congratulated Russia’s national bandy team on their victory in the XXXVI Bandy World Championship, which took place in Ulyanovsk.
The President said, in particular, in his message:
“You have once again given us a thrilling and exciting performance and won the world championship once more. This marvellous tradition of victory is clear evidence of your skill and team spirit, and the excellent level of training of our country’s bandy team.”
Russia’s national bandy team won the world championship for the fourth time in a row. This was the 24th victory for the national team in USSR/Russia bandy history. The USSR national team won the world championship 14 times, and the Russian national team has won 10 times.
