Vladimir Putin took part in the gala match of the 5th Russian National Hockey Festival among amateur teams, organised by the Night Hockey League.
The Night Hockey League national team and the Night Hockey League Stars, including Vladimir Putin, faced off on the Bolshoi Ice Arena at Sochi’s Olympic Park.
The president scored one goal and provided two assists; final score, 9:5 for the Night Hockey League Stars.
The Night Hockey League is a leading Russian amateur sport organisation promoting hockey. Every year, a Russian national hockey festival among amateur teams is held within the framework of the Night Hockey League. The main prize is a Sport Ministry grant for the construction of an ice palace in the region represented by the tournament winner.
