Presidential Aide and Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Council for Development of Physical Culture and Sport Igor Levitin held the first meeting of the working group to prepare a meeting of the Council on measures to promote the system for training the sports reserve and Russian national teams until 2024.
Minister of Sport and Head of the working group Pavel Kolobkov, as well as leading experts in field of physical culture and sport, took part in the meeting.
The participants focused on improving the system of training the sports reserve and reviewed in detail the draft concept for training the sports reserve developed by the Ministry of Sport and agreed upon with the concerned ministries and organisations.
During the discussion, the participants developed common approaches to further improving the field of physical culture and sport education, and creating effective mechanisms for training and improving skills. On a separate note, the participants discussed the financial sustainability of institutions in the present environment.
The participants approved the structure of the report, which provides, in addition to the above issues, for clarification in the document of the development of the material and technical base for sport, medical support during various stages of training and using the latest computer systems.
The meeting of the Council for Physical Culture and Sport is scheduled for the first half of 2017.
