Vladimir Putin congratulated Russia’s national student sports team at the 28th Winter Universiade in Kazakhstan on their excellent performance.
The President said, in particular, in his message:
“You were worthy representatives of our country at this prestigious international competition, demonstrated your excellent physical form and determination to win, and earned what was a record number of medals at a winter Universiade.
Of course, I also express my sincere thanks to your coaches, mentors and all who helped to take you to the summit.”
Russia’s national team took first place in the overall team ranking at the Universiade, with 71 medals in total: 29 gold, 27 silver, and 15 bronze medals.
