Vladimir Putin congratulated participants, guests and organisers of the 6th Night Hockey League Festival on the opening of the finals stage.
The message reads, in part:
“Russia is renowned for its ice hockey school and a long track record of success in this sport. There is no doubt that these traditions are underpinned by the popularity and relevance of ice hockey as a mass sport, and a developed recruitment and training system for talented players.
It is important that more and more people today, and especially the younger generation, are enthusiastic about sports, and seek the benefits of a healthy, active lifestyle. I believe that the credit for this goes to your organisation, among others.
It is highly satisfying that this year the number of teams competing in the festival has increased. This means that the efforts made by the organisers, coaches and sport enthusiasts created positive momentum for the project. The League should further expand its reach, attracting new amateur clubs and sports fans.
I wish you success, spectacular games and outstanding victories.”
