Vladimir Putin endorsed a list of instructions following the meeting on February 7, 2018, on preparations for the 29th Winter Universiade to be held in 2019 in Krasnoyarsk.
The instructions have been issued with a view to implementing government guarantees given to the International University Sports Federation (FISU) in connection with preparations for the 29th Winter Universiade 2019 in Krasnoyarsk and improving the city’s transport infrastructure.
The Government has been instructed to ensure the allocation of an additional 1.12 billion rubles for the repair and overhaul of property and major repair of exposed utilities systems of the facilities located in the Universiade Village.
The Federal Government and the Government of Krasnoyarsk Territory have received instructions to provide the Territory’s clinical hospital with equipment, purchase tourist-class coaches and organise transport between Krasnoyarsk International Airport (Yemelyanovo) and the city of Krasnoyarsk for the guests of the Universiade; rebuild the airport’s infrastructure; complete the construction of the first line of the metro in Krasnoyarsk; and establish a federal Olympic reserve school specialising in winter sports.
The Federal Government, the Government of Krasnoyarsk Territory and Russian Railways have been instructed to consider the feasibility of building a rail link to Krasnoyarsk International Airport (Yemelyanovo) taking into account the prospects for developing the said airport hub and implementing the plans for Yemelyanovo District of Krasnoyarsk Territory.
