Vladimir Putin congratulated the Russian national team on victory in the unofficial medal count at the 2019 Winter Universiade in Krasnoyarsk.
The message reads, in part:
“At this demanding competition, you demonstrated excellent training, skills and resolve to win as a close-knit team. Each of you did your bit, contributing to your victorious performance.
I would like to express special gratitude to your coaches, instructors and everyone else who put their hearts and souls into your training, teaching you to overcome obstacles and to strive for ambitious goals.
I am confident that the experience you have accumulated at the Universiade will help you to succeed in sports and life.”
