Vladimir Putin sent greetings to participants, organisers and guests of the 2019 Russian Presidential Canoeing Cup International Competitions held on August 30–31 in Moscow.
The message reads in part:
“This prestigious tournament is among the most important and long-awaited events on the International Canoe Federation calendar. It traditionally features a rich and diverse programme and involves outstanding participants, including winners and medalists of the Olympic Games and major world and European championships. And, of course, it helps popularise rowing and promote the values of a healthy and active lifestyle in society, especially among young people.
I am confident that the current competitions will help the best rowers of the world to display their professionalism, stamina, training levels and teamwork. In turn, Moscow residents and tourists will be able to enjoy the thrilling atmosphere of this competition, as well as remarkable victories.”
