Vladimir Putin congratulated Vladislav Larin, winner of the men’s +80 kg event in taekwondo at the 32ndSummer Olympic Games in Tokyo.
The message reads, in part:
“Your success is a clear demonstration that martial arts are on the rise in Russia now, and the domestic taekwondo school trains good fighters who can handle the most difficult sporting challenges. Keep up the good work.
And, of course, special gratitude goes to your coaches and mentors, as well as experts on the national team who supported you on your journey to the gold medal.”
