Vladimir Putin congratulated Abdulrashid Sadulaev on winning a gold medal in the under 97kg category of the men’s freestyle wrestling tournament at the Tokyo Olympics.
The President’s message reads, in part:
“You have lived up to the expectations of your coaches, mentors and multiple supporters, and have demonstrated your true fighting spirit, as well as willpower and a desire to win. Having repeated your Olympic success of the Rio-de-Janeiro Summer Olympics, you have proved that the Russian school of freestyle wrestling is rightfully considered one of the world’s best.”
