Vladimir Putin conveyed his condolences to the family of the deceased Olympic boxing champion Boris Lagutin.
The message reads, in part:
“Boris Lagutin was a talented, ambitious, and strong-willed man who left an impactful and truly triumphant mark in the history of Russian sports. He did much to develop the fitness movement, as well as other public work, and he sincerely supported gifted youth, and new athletes.”
Two-time Olympic champion, six-time boxing champion of the USSR Boris Lagutin died on September 4 at the age of 84.
