Vladimir Putin sent his greetings to participants and guests of the Bronze Horseman international triathlon competitions that have kicked off in St Petersburg.
The message reads, in part:
“I would like to note that this event occupies its worthy place in an already busy calendar of sporting events, seamlessly complementing the vast scope of mass sports competitions and bringing together professional athletes and sports enthusiasts from different regions of Russia, as well as from abroad. The festival’s expansive programme features not only long-distance triathlons, including ironman races, but also engaging cultural events and charitable initiatives.
I am confident that the festival will enjoy success and serve to popularise sports and promote a healthy and active lifestyle in our society, especially among young people.”
