The message reads, in part:

“Launched in 2007, the tournament has since then consolidated its potential and has become an outstanding sport and public event. It has made a weighty contribution to expanding professional and personal contacts, as representatives of law enforcement agencies who jointly uphold the law, safeguard the tranquil life of people and ensure their safety compete on the tatami.

I am delighted to note that teams from Russia and a number of foreign states will take part in the competitions once again. They are talented, strong and victory-oriented martial arts experts who are well-versed in the sport’s professional secrets. I am confident that the competition will prove well-organised and will help popularise Sambo, a thrilling and spectacular sport that strengthens one’s will, builds up fortitude, stamina, perseverance and respect for the adversary.”
