Vladimir Putin congratulated Alexander Tretyakov on his gold medal in the men’s skeleton race.
The message reads, in part:
“After your success in Vancouver you did not rest on your laurels but prepared for new competitions and honed your skills. In Sochi you realised the dream of every athlete and won Olympic gold. This is Russia’s first gold medal ever in the Olympic skeleton event. Your trainers, teammates, family and friends, fans and our entire country are all proud of your achievement.”
