Dmitry Medvedev set a task of preparing a legal framework to reform the military pay system in Russia with the aim of streamlining its structure and increasing the amounts in line with the state’s economic capabilities.

The President pointed out that meeting the commitments to provide permanent or service housing to military personnel was listed as priority expenditure in the Budget Address. Mr Medvedev urged to make a quick and accurate count of the number of servicemen in need of housing, specify realistic deadlines for acquiring such housing, and control spending of funds.
