Dmitry Medvedev signed Federal Law On Amendment to Article 13 of the Federal Law On the Federal Security Service.
The Federal Law grants the Federal Security Service the right to obtain biological materials and process genomic information to investigate crimes whose inquiry and preliminary investigation is assigned to the FSB by the legislation of the Russian Federation.
This will allow the Federal Security Service to obtain genomic information required for investigating crimes of a terrorist nature more swiftly and will increase the efficacy of its performance in countering terrorism.
