The President has signed the Federal Law On Amendments to the Air Code of the Russian Federation.
The Federal Law is designed to close the gap in the legal regulation of issues related to the training, mandatory certification and professional authorisation of experimental aviation specialists.
In addition, the Federal Law clarifies Russian Air Code provisions related to the use of unmanned aircraft.
Unmanned aerial systems and (or) elements thereof, including unmanned civilian aircraft with a maximum takeoff weight of over 30 kilogrammes, manufactured in a foreign state and imported for use in the Russian Federation, are subject to certification in accordance with federal aviation regulations.
