The President signed the Federal Law On Amendments to the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
The Federal Law introduces amendments to some articles of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation stipulating punishment for obstructing voting rights and the operation of electoral commissions, falsifying electoral documents, referendum documents and voting results and unlawful issuance and obtaining of election voting ballots and referendum voting ballots.
The amendments establish liability for such offences in the course of a national vote.
