Vladimir Putin congratulated Russia’s construction sector workers and veterans on their professional holiday, the Construction Workers’ Day.
The message reads, in part:
“You have devoted your lives to constructive work and a profession that has always held an honoured place in society. The construction sector’s history is marked by the names of outstanding architects, engineers and scientists, top-class specialists devoted to their work. The sector’s history includes developing remote parts of the Far North, Siberia, and the Far East, and unique projects and record-setting accomplishments that have achieved global recognition. It is good to see that you remain loyal to the rich traditions established by your predecessors and remember that your work and its results have a direct impact on the quality of life in our cities, the effectiveness of industrial and agricultural infrastructure, and our people’s welfare.
The situation in the construction sector is without question one of the key indicators of a country’s economic, industrial and social development. The successful realisation of the tasks before you will be a major contribution to making our country stronger.
I am sure that your knowledge and experience will help to modernise the sector, re-equip it, and expand the use of advanced technology that meets the very highest environmental and safety standards.”
